Acrylic on canvas - NOV 2018
From a certain stroke or movement, the painting appears to merge with the surrounding artworks to form together a single and unique artwork, while each painting retains its own individuality and the personal style of its creator.
The depicted Arabic letter Ha’ may allude to the wind Hawa manifesting in the flow of the brush strokes. It may also imply a search for the individual or collective identity Hawiya. The multitude of words and thoughts that the letter suggests is unrestricted, varying from one person to the other.
This painting is one piece of a series of paintings by different artists, which was exhibited at the Institut du Monde Arabe in Paris in November 2018 under the name Un oeil ouvert sur le monde Arabe.
