How does one understand the duality of giving and deprivation in life?
the human being tends to perceive deprivation as something negative, but can abundance be estimated by reference to the mere illusion of giving?
A fulfilled desire may be countered by a lost virtue. A withheld wish may be countered by a far more precious reward. When the wisdom behind this dichotomy is understood, giving would be seen as a gift and deprivation would be revealed as a blessing.
